MISSION, GOAL, OBJECTIVE
The Mission of the Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Trainning Corps (AFJROTC) is to build better citizens for America. The goals of the program are to instill values in citizenship, service to the United States,personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment in high school students. The objectives of AFJROTC are to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline, and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals.

As an Air force Junior ROTC cadet, “I will not lie, cheat, steal, nor tolerate those who do.”

The JROTC program, as it is known today, began in 1911 Cheyenne, Wyoming. Army lieutenant Edgar R. Steevers, originated the idea of a non-compulsory high school cadet corps aimed at making better citizens, as a opposed to soldiers.
